By: Robert Sterling – SeaPRwire – DesignRush just put a construction marketing shop on its 2026 GEO shortlist. Estes Media sits there as the only pure construction agency. The rest are national players. That placement is the signal. Contractors still ranking on page one keep getting skipped when buyers ask AI tools who to call.

Official announcement facts run clear. Jersey City-based Estes Media made DesignRush’s “7 Best GEO Agencies to Hire in 2026.” The list dropped September 28. It recognizes agencies that earn clients citations inside AI answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and other answer engines. Estes Media is the sole construction marketing agency named. It appears next to Moburst, Searchbloom and Intero Digital. Peer lists already carried the firm. Thrive Agency put it in the “15 Best Construction Digital Marketing Agencies in 2026.” The Marketing Agency listed it among the “11 Top Construction Marketing Agencies in 2026.” DesignRush judged on experience, service depth, client results and real AI search visibility. The write-up calls Estes Media a done-for-you marketing team for B2B companies. GEO and AI search visibility sit at the center of a program built on a strong SEO foundation. The ranking flags work with client WNC Roofing, the top commercial roofing contractor in North Carolina. Earlier content was written for keywords. AI engines found it hard to quote. Estes Media rebuilt it around answer-first content blocks and FAQ sections. Each answer stands alone. Schema markup was added to identify WNC as a service business. Topical depth was expanded across core services and service areas with named projects and dated examples. WNC Roofing now holds 40 percent voice share in AI search results for its core services and markets. It leads every competing contractor. Existing organic rankings stayed steady. In Perplexity, WNC ranks second among commercial roof repair contractors in North Carolina.
Commercial real intent sits beside those numbers. AI answers are changing how property managers and general contractors find firms. DesignRush cites Ahrefs data. The share of Google AI Overview citations pulled from top-10 ranking pages fell from 76 percent in July 2025 to about 38 percent by March 2026. Ranking on page one no longer guarantees a name when someone asks an AI tool who to hire. Joshua Estes, founder and partner, stated the practical stake. The next customer asks Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini who the best commercial roofer is and who can solve the problem. The answer returns three names. If the firm is not one of them, the lead never arrives. The agency began building GEO into every client program because contractors and brands were ranking well yet still missing the answer. Wins like WNC’s show both can be won. Estes treats AI visibility as part of the same system as SEO, paid media and conversion tracking. A citation only matters if the resulting call gets tracked, answered fast and booked. That is the infrastructure the agency builds. Estes Media serves commercial construction, manufacturing and venture-backed SaaS. The team mixes builders, creatives and strategists. Services cover branding, web design, SEO, paid media and growth strategy. The stated aim is moving brands from scrappy to scalable.
Business circle reshuffle is already under way. Agencies that still treat GEO as an add-on will watch clients lose voice share even while rankings hold. Firms that fold answer-first content, schema and tracked conversion into the same stack keep the lead. Estes Media put that stack on the board and secured the only construction slot on DesignRush’s list. Contractors who want the same outcome can start with the same rebuild WNC received.
