Gen Expands Global AI Education Efforts to Strengthen Digital Citizenship for Youth

NORTHAMPTON, MA – 11/12/2025 – (SeaPRwire) – As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly woven into everyday digital experiences, Gen is broadening its global education and community initiatives to ensure young people develop the knowledge and confidence needed to navigate an AI-driven world. Through partnerships with educators, nonprofit organizations, and international youth communities, the company is seeking to advance responsible AI literacy while reinforcing its commitment to online safety.

In Washington, D.C., Gen joined Discovery Education and IBM as co-sponsors of Shaping the Future: AI Education and Workforce Development, a forum focused on preparing students for an emerging era of AI-centric learning and careers. During the event, Gen representatives outlined how the company responsibly integrates AI across product development and internal operations, while also sharing insights on how families and teachers can help young people use AI tools safely.

Gen further contributed to Discovery Education’s Empowering Digital Citizens webinar, a program aimed at supporting teachers with resources on online safety, media literacy and digital responsibility. One of Gen’s AI specialists, Iskandar Sanchez-Rola, engaged directly with educators, addressing common questions about AI’s underlying mechanics and its expanding role in society.

The event also featured perspectives from #HalfTheStory, a youth-focused organization dedicated to digital wellness. Their representatives provided firsthand accounts from teenagers describing how AI-powered technologies are shaping their daily interactions. The collective programming, part of Discovery Education’s first Futures Fair, reached more than 600 students across 20 classrooms, with total engagement exceeding 13,000 through virtual and in-person activities.

Gen’s education initiatives also extend internationally. Through its long-standing partnership with the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), the company has delivered digital safety training to young people in over 100 countries. The collaborative Surf Smart 2.0 program—recently refreshed with AI-oriented content—helps participants understand where AI appears in their digital routines, how algorithms influence information exposure, and how to evaluate online content critically. The curriculum also incorporates discussions on digital wellbeing, body image pressure, and methods to manage screen time in healthy ways.

Additionally, Gen is working with Discovery Education on new AI modules within the My Digital Life series, developed with Norton and the National Afterschool Association. The upcoming animated lessons introduce a character named Artie Fischal, who guides students through scenarios demonstrating how AI generates text, images, and audio—and why verifying information remains essential.

For Gen, embedding AI in its products is only one part of the company’s mission. It also emphasizes responsible development practices and proactive public engagement. By investing in community education, strengthening global partnerships, and sharing expertise across multiple platforms, Gen aims to help families, educators, and young learners better understand the opportunities and challenges AI presents.
