JINHUA, CHINA, June 27, 2023 – (SEAPRWire) – On June 24, the 3rd China Zhejiang Famous Medicine and Food-Drug Homology Health Industry Development Conference was held in Wuyi, Zhejiang Province. This event was hosted by “Wuyi County Publicity Department of Jinhua Municipal Committee”. The theme of this conference was “Zhejiang Famous Medicine, Nourishing the Body, Food-Drug Homology, Healthy China.” Experts such as Academician Li Yu, Academician Sun Baoguo, Academician Zhu Beiwei, Academician Xie Mingyong, and Academician Yu Jingquan attended the conference to discuss topics including how to fully leverage the characteristic advantages of “Zhejiang Famous Medicine,” promoting the high-quality development of the Zhejiang traditional Chinese medicine industry through industry-academia-research collaboration, the development and future of the food-drug homology health industry, the role of food-drug homology in rural revitalization, and the development and application of Ganoderma and Dendrobium catenatum, two famous medicines in Zhejiang.
During the conference, a series of new projects and trends related to “Zhejiang Famous Medicine” were also announced. The “China Agricultural Technology Association Zhejiang Wuyi Ganoderma Technology Small Courtyard,” the “Shouxian gu Biological Breeding Innovation Center,” and the “Shouxiangu Functional Food and Nutritional Health Research Institute” were officially unveiled. The “Wuyi Ganoderma Geographical Indication” was officially released. Additionally, an award ceremony was held for Wuyi County’s “Top Ten Medicinal Diets and Top Ten Mushroom Dishes.” Zhejiang Shouxiangu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. signed strategic cooperation agreements with Jilin Agricultural University, China Pharmaceutical University, and the Food Science Research Institute of Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
Wuyi is the place of origin for Ganoderma and Dendrobium catenatum, two of the “New Eight Wonders of Zhejiang” and an important production base for both old and new varieties of the “Eight Wonders of Zhejiang” in Zhejiang Province. In recent years, taking advantage of the public brand building of “Zhejiang Famous Medicine,” Wuyi has vigorously developed its traditional Chinese medicine characteristic industry. According to statistics, in 2022, the planting area of Chinese medicinal materials in Wuyi reached 28,300 mu, with a total industrial output value of 1.95 billion yuan.
The conference was organized by the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, co-organized by the Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicine and Health Joint Body, and hosted by “Wuyi County Publicity Department of Jinhua Municipal Committee”.
