TORONTO, ON – 23/05/2026 – (SeaPRwire) – As North America’s construction technology sector continues to evolve, more software firms are reevaluating how and where they build long-term operational teams. Against that backdrop, BuildOps has officially launched its first dedicated Canadian headquarters in downtown Toronto, reinforcing the company’s ongoing investment in Canada’s commercial construction technology market.
Located at 210 King Street East, Suite 500, the new office marks a transition from temporary coworking arrangements to a permanent operational hub for the company’s growing Toronto workforce. Situated near Union Station, the office currently supports a 93-person team and reflects several years of gradual expansion in Canada.
The opening comes during a period when many U.S.-based technology firms are tightening domestic hiring strategies and consolidating operations closer to home. In contrast, BuildOps is continuing to expand internationally following its recent growth trajectory.
The Toronto expansion follows the company’s achievement of unicorn status after securing a $127 million Series C funding round led by Meritech Capital Partners. According to the company, a notable portion of that investment has been directed toward scaling Canadian operations rather than concentrating resources exclusively in the United States.
Over the past year, BuildOps added 25 new employees to its Toronto office, including several professionals recruited from U.S.-based technology firms. Company leadership views the trend as an indication of Canada’s increasing ability to attract and retain experienced software and operational talent.
Alok Chanani, co-founder and CEO of BuildOps, said the company has observed a growing number of Canadian professionals returning from U.S. technology companies to participate in the development of commercial software platforms within Canada.
According to Chanani, the shift demonstrates both the depth of Canada’s technology talent pool and the growing demand within the commercial contracting sector for software solutions designed specifically around operational workflows in the trades industry.
BuildOps currently serves more than 1,500 commercial contracting businesses across the United States and Canada. In Canada, the platform is widely used by companies operating in sectors such as HVAC, mechanical services, electrical contracting, and refrigeration.
Among the company’s Canadian customers is Trotter & Morton, one of Western Canada’s largest multi-trade contractors. Founded in 1927 and headquartered in Calgary, the company utilizes the BuildOps platform to support operational management across its business.
Unlike many U.S.-based vertical SaaS providers that adapt products secondarily for Canadian users, BuildOps has incorporated Canadian-specific operational and financial requirements directly into its platform. The system supports GST, PST, and HST tax structures and integrates with widely used accounting and ERP platforms, including Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Viewpoint Vista, Viewpoint Spectrum, and QuickBooks Canada.
Mohit Sinha, who oversees the Toronto office, said the company’s Canadian operation has evolved beyond a regional sales presence into a fully integrated product and engineering hub supporting contractors across the country.
The BuildOps platform combines service management, project workflows, dispatching, financial operations, and field productivity tools within a unified system designed specifically for commercial contractors. The company states that AI-powered automation and workflow intelligence are integrated throughout the platform to help contractors improve operational efficiency from initial service requests through invoicing and project completion.
